    Ekiti LG Service Commission Trains Information, Community Officers.

    The Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission has launched a strategic two-day capacity-building workshop aimed at enhancing transparency, accountability, and effective service delivery across the grassroots.

    The Chairman of the Commission, Mr. Samuel Abejide, who declared the workshop open said the goal was to reposition officers in the Community Development and Information Departments for improved efficiency in service delivery.

    Represented by the commissioner in charge of Training and manpower development department, Mr. Wole Olujobi the chairman noted that the importance of communication in governance cannot be overstated, particularly at the local level where direct citizen engagement is essential.

    “This workshop is designed to empower our officers with the skills and mindset needed to build public trust, engage meaningfully with citizens, and promote transparency in governance. When our people are well-informed and heard, democracy thrives.” he noted

    The chairman stated that the training aligns with the broader vision of the Ekiti State Government under Governor Biodun Oyebanji, to institutionalize professionalism, responsiveness, and innovation in local government administration.

    Speaking on behalf of the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Titilayo Toba-Ojo, the HLA, Mr SA Familoye announced the signing of promotion letters for officers who participated in earlier promotion interviews,describing it as a positive milestone in the Commission’s ongoing capacity‑building initiatives.

    He warned participants against absenteeism at the workshop, describing it as intentional investments by the government to enhance efficient and effective service delivery.

    Mr. Familoye warned that lackadaisical behaviour could jeopardize officers’ eligibility for future training programmes.

    “Your conduct must justify the investment the Government is making in your capacity development,” he added

    Speaking On behalf of the participants, Mr Olatunji Sunday expressed gratitude to the Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission.

    “We are sincerely thankful for your continuous commitment to capacity building and development across the local government system.

    Special appreciation goes to the *Training Department* for the excellent job done in organizing this impactful workshop. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed, and we pray that the Commission will continue to grow in strength and relevance.

    We, the participants, deeply appreciate this opportunity, and we assure you that the knowledge and skills acquired here will not be taken for granted and we will strive to replicate such excellence within our system.

    We urge the Commission to keep this platform alive — it is highly valuable. In the new year, we look forward to more of such enriching engagements”. He added
