An Ekiti State High Court in Ado Ekiti has sentenced four persons to death by hanging. The condemned inmates, Jimoh Dele(57), Ige Adu(56), Ogunremi Bunmi (53) and Ayeni Blessing (32) were arraigned on 1/9/2022 before Justice Lekan Olatawura, on four count charge, bordering on conspiracy, kidnapping, murder and illegal possession of firearm. The Senate has passed an amendment to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Act, proposing tougher penalties for a range of traffic offences as part of efforts to improve road safety and strengthen compliance with traffic regulations. One of the major provisions of the amendment bill introduces a ₦100,000 fine for motorists who fail to obey traffic lights, road signs, road markings, or other traffic control devices. The Ekiti State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that the victims who were abducted on 28th April, 2026 during an attack at the Christ Apostolic Church, Eda-Oniyo, have been successfully rescued. Fifteen out of Sixteen residents of Eda Oniyo who were kidnapped on April 28, 2026 at a Church service have been released by the Kidnappers.
