    The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Biodun Oyebanji on Tax and Revenue Matters, Hon.Ayodeji Adarabierin has donated food items, beverages, and cash to Muslims and Christians in Ado Ekiti as they observe Ramadan and Lent.

    The donation, made on Monday, according to Hon. Adarabierin was aimed at promoting interfaith harmony and supporting adherents of both faiths during their respective periods of fasting and spiritual reflection.

    The Convener of Asipa Political Family emphasized the importance of tolerance, understanding, and peaceful coexistence, highlighting the shared values of compassion, self-discipline, and generosity that underpin both Ramadan and Lent.

    He urged them to reflect on the lessons of Ramadan and lent which are self-reflection, forgiveness, and kindness among others

    “As we observe these sacred periods, let us reflect on the lessons of self-reflection, forgiveness, and kindness, and strive to incorporate these values into our daily lives,” Adarabierin said.

    Hon. Adarabierin who the Coordinator, Relax Tinubu is Fixing Nigeria Group RTIFN, Ekiti State Chapter explained that he made the donations to show appreciation for the peaceful coexistence of Muslims and Christians in Ekiti State.

    “Ekiti is a shining example of interfaith harmony, and we want to encourage this spirit of love and unity,” he said.

    He added that the gesture was also a way of acknowledging the contributions of Muslims and Christians to the development of Ekiti State.

    “This gesture is a reflection of Governor Oyebanji’s commitment to promoting unity and peaceful coexistence among Ekiti residents,” Adarabierin said. “We recognize the significance of these periods to both Muslims and Christians, and we are honored to support our brothers and sisters as they fast and pray.”

    “We recognize the role that people of faith play in shaping our society, and we want to support them as they pursue their spiritual journeys.”

    While receiving the items, representatives of the Muslim and Christian communities expressed gratitude for the gesture.

    “This is a wonderful display of interfaith solidarity and a reminder of our shared humanity,” said Sheikh Abdulaziz, a Muslim leader. “We appreciate the government’s support and encouragement.”

    A Christian leader, echoed similar sentiments. “We are grateful for this gesture, which has brought joy to our hearts during this period of fasting and prayer. May it be a source of strength and inspiration to all.”

    The people said that the coincidence of Ramadan and Lent in 2026 is a rare opportunity for Muslims and Christians to come together in prayer, reflection, and mutual understanding.
