A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Engr. (Dr.) Ayo Omotoso, has congratulated the Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, over his recent victory at the court, describing the judgment as a clear affirmation of the people’s mandate and the triumph of democracy.
Dr. Omotoso, in a statement made available to journalists in Ado Ekiti, said the court’s decision has further strengthened public confidence in the nation’s judiciary, noting that justice has once again prevailed in the face of legal contestations.
He emphasized that Governor Oyebanji’s victory did not come as a surprise, considering what he described as the overwhelming support the governor enjoys among the people of the State, as well as his track record of purposeful leadership.
According to him, the judgment serves as a validation of the electoral process and a reassurance that the democratic system remains resilient and capable of addressing grievances through lawful means.
Dr. Omotoso commended the governor for his calm disposition and respect for the rule of law throughout the legal proceedings, adding that such conduct has further endeared him to the people and strengthened the credibility of his administration.
He also called on aggrieved individuals to accept the court’s verdict in good faith and join hands with the governor in the collective interest of peace, unity, and development in Ekiti State.
The APC stalwart stressed that the time has come for all stakeholders to move beyond political differences and work together to consolidate on the developmental strides already being recorded under the Oyebanji administration.
While reaffirming his loyalty to the APC, Dr. Omotoso used the opportunity to hint at his intention to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives, stating that consultations with party leaders, elders, and constituents are already at an advanced stage.
He noted that his decision to aspire is driven by a desire to offer quality representation and contribute meaningfully to national development, particularly in areas that directly impact the lives of his people.
Dr. Omotoso assured that, if given the mandate, he would prioritize youth empowerment, job creation, infrastructural development, and policies aimed at improving the overall welfare of his constituents.
He further pledged to work in synergy with Governor Oyebanji and other relevant stakeholders to attract more federal presence and developmental projects to his constituency.
The APC chieftain concluded by expressing optimism about the future of Ekiti State under the current administration, while assuring party faithful and supporters that his official declaration would be made public in the coming days.
