The Chairman of the Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission Mr. Samuel Abejide has commended the cordial relationship between the State and Local Government councils officials and called for sustainability.
Abejide gave the commendation in Ado Ekiti, at a meeting with the President of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees and Chairmen of the union at various Local Government and LCDA chapters, in Ekiti State.
The chairman noted that the Governor has consistently shown confidence in Local Government staff and openly recognized them as a key force in his administration. 
“The Governor has placed us as the first in his mind and he says it openly, We must not take for granted the love and support extended to us. What this administration has done for the Local Government system is evident in what we have enjoyed so far.” he added
Abejide urged staff to reciprocate the Governor’s commitment, stressing that loyalty and dedication should be mutual.
“If someone is always there for us, we should also be there for him when he needs us — in every season and at all times,” he said.
The Chairman also placed strong emphasis on discipline, noting that indolence should not be condoned at any level.
He expressed confidence that Local Government Nulge officials are at best positioned to uphold and enforce discipline within their domains.
Expressing concern over the conduct of some newly appointed staff, he said many have shown poor attendance and a lack of seriousness toward their duties.
He warned that the Commission would not hesitate to replace such staff with individuals who are willing and ready to work, adding that the organization is prepared to confront the challenge head-on.
“We must not misuse the opportunity we have been given, chairmen of Nulge are to police and stop these practices in their respective Local Governments and LCDAs.”
The Chairman called on all Local Government workers to live up to the expectations placed on them and to reflect the trust the Governor has reposed in the system through their conduct and commitment to service.
In his response, the President of NULGE, Mr. O.B. Olatunde, stated that the assignment of promoting the gospel of BAO was not a difficult task, considering the remarkable achievements of the Chairman, made possible through the support of the Governor.
According to him, such responsibilities—mobilization, sensitization, and publicity—are areas in which they are well experienced.
Mr Olatunde assured the Chairman that they would not disappoint him, emphasizing that the assignment goes beyond BAO alone, but is centered on the overall progress and prosperity of Ekiti State.
He noted that, beyond being a civil servants, they are also residents who have witnessed firsthand the positive impact of the governor’s efforts.
The President further expressed their commitment to continuity, stating that they will strongly support BAO and Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Reacting to the issue of newly recruited staff, The Nulge President assured the chairman that necessary steps would be taken to address the situation by separating the committed workers from those who are not.
