Ekiti LG Service Commission Debunks Claims of New Recruitment

The Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission has dismissed reports that it is currently conducting fresh recruitment into the local government system.

The chairman of the commission Mr Samuel Abejide said the clarification became necessary to forestall misinformation.

He noted that the present exercise underway in the commission was not aimed at recruiting new staff, but rather at absorbing existing casual and temporary staff who have been working in the service for about five to six years.

Mr Abejide added that the absorption process is not a new initiative, but a pledge approved by the State Governor during the recent tour of local government areas.

The chairman urged members of the public to disregard the rumour and rely only on official communication from the commission regarding staff matters.
