The founder and leader of the Atayese socio-cultural group, Chief Akin Ojo, has rejoiced with legal icon, Aare Afe Babalola, on the celebration of the 2025 Afe Babalola Day an annual event proclaimed by the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, Oba Adeyemo Adejugbe, setting aside October 18 each year to honor the elder statesman for his tireless contributions to humanity and national development.

In a congratulatory message, Chief Ojo-Atayese highlighted Aare Babalola’s landmark contributions in the fields of law, health, agriculture, and education particularly through the establishment of Afe Babalola University (ABUAD), which he described as a beacon of academic excellence and discipline in Nigeria.

“As a socio-cultural organization committed to the preservation and promotion of values such as excellence, integrity, and service, we are proud to associate with Aare Afe Babalola. He embodies all we stand for and more,” Chief Ojo stated.

The Ado-Ekiti-born traditionalist also commended Oba Adejugbe for the foresight in setting aside a special day to honor and celebrate the revered legal legend.

“There is great wisdom in honoring distinguished individuals during their lifetime. We are truly pleased that Aare Afe Babalola is receiving this recognition now while he can witness the admiration, feel the gratitude, and see the far-reaching impact of his remarkable contributions,” he said.

Chief Ojo went on to pray for Aare Babalola’s continued good health and fulfillment in his efforts to build a better society.

“We celebrate you, Baba. You are a living legacy, and your light continues to shine across generations,” he concluded.
