In a significant development in Ekiti State politics, Chief Oluyemi Esan, Board Chairman of Ekiti State Road Maintenance Agency, has formally declared his interest in contesting the House of Representatives seat for Ado/Irepodun-Ifelodun Federal Constituency in the 2027 National Assembly elections.
Addressing a gathering of ward chairmen from Ado Constituency 1, Esan, who is from the constituency, expressed his determination to run, citing the constituency’s denial for the past three dispensations as a major motivator.

“It’s an injustice to Ado constituency 1,” Esan expressed his resolve to break the jinx and bring development to the Federal constituency.
This is the third attempt at the seat by Chief Esan, having shown interest twice before.
“I’m starting from my home constituency, seeking the backing of my ward chairmen and leaders to recommend me to the appropriate authorities for consideration.
Highlighting his credentials, Esan recalled his tenure as a senior civil servant, where he facilitated employment for about 3,000 people across the state at the local government level.

He pointed to his experience in managing large projects and engaging with communities as key qualifications for the role.
“I’m well positioned for the job, considering my pedigree and experience, and I urge party leaders to consider me being an aspirant from Ado constituency 1 for House of Reps seat in the next dispensation.
He urged the Ado constituency 1 ward chairmen to back his bid and to voice out the marginaliagitation of the constituency for the past twelve years.

Responding on behalf of the ward chairmen, Mr. Oladimeji Kayode praised Esan’s courage and acknowledged his previous bids.
“The party’s decision is supreme,” he said, noting that with about 12 aspirants eyeing the seat, Constituency 1 hopes to get consideration.”

Kayode urged Esan to continue his consultations, adding that the constituency was desirous of a representative at the National Assembly.
