A politician and philanthropist, Tolu Roland Olanrewaju, has brought relief to parents and students of Davies Academy, Ifaki-Ekiti through a series of educational support initiatives.

The intervention, which took place within the school compound, saw Mr Olanrewaju pay the school fees of some students, settle the National Examinations Council, NECO registration fees for candidates, and provide shoes for some of the learners who were in need.

Addressing the students, Mr Olanrewaju, who is also a landlord in Olorunsogo Estate where the school is situated, said his motivation was rooted in a passion to give back to his community and contribute meaningfully to the development of education at the grassroots.

He noted that supporting young people through education remains one of the most impactful ways of building a better society, adding that his action also aligns with the education policies and vision of Governor Biodun Oyebanji.

Mr Olanrewaju used the occasion to encourage the students to take their studies seriously, remain disciplined, and strive for excellence in all their academic pursuits.

He urged them to be worthy ambassadors of Ifaki-Ekiti and Ekiti State at large, stressing that hard work and commitment would position them for greater opportunities in the future.

In her response, the Proprietress of the school, Princess Fadekemi Kelechi-David, expressed appreciation for the kind gesture, describing it as a significant contribution to the growth and stability of the school.

She commended Mr Olanrewaju for his generosity and concern for the welfare of the students, noting that such support would have a lasting positive impact on their educational journey.

Princess Kelechi-David also offered prayers for his continued success, asking for greater accomplishments in his future endeavours and public service.

Some of the beneficiaries, visibly overwhelmed with joy, expressed their gratitude through songs and words of appreciation, celebrating the donor for his kindness.

They also promised to reciprocate the gesture by showing commitment to their studies and making their benefactor proud through outstanding academic performance.

Some passers-by described the gesture as timely, especially for parents facing financial challenges, as it eased the burden of meeting essential educational expenses and ensured that affected students could continue their academic activities without disruption.
