The Executive Chairman of Aiyekire Local Government Hon. Adeoye Davies Adeyemo has presented the 2026 budget proposal of 6.5billion naira to the Council’s legislative house for consideration.
The Council Chairman while presenting the budget Christened “Budget of Assured Hope” at the local government legislative Chamber at Ode-Ekiti said that the budget is expected to be financed with revenue from the federation account, internally generated revenue of the council, Excess Crude Oil, Value Added tax among others.
According to Hon. Adeyemo a sum of 4.2billion naira would be expended on Recurrent expenditure while the capital expenditure would gulp a total sum of 2.3billion naira.
He said the budget is targeted at funding development projects that would impact lives of the rural communities and enhance food production.
The Aiyekire Council Boss appealed to the people of the council to continue to ensure prompt payment of their taxes with a view to expanding the revenue base of the local government.
“The heavy responsibility of the local government makes it imperative for us to look inward so that we may be able to achieve all our electioneering promises and leave the Aiyekire local government and Gbonyin LCDA better than we met it”.
He appealed to members of the legislative arm to act fast in scrutinizing and passing the budget estimate to enhance the development of the council socially and economically.
Responding, the Leader of the legislative arm, Rt Hon. Caroline Adejoke Abe pledged adequate consideration of the budget estimate with a view to meeting the peoples yearnings.
She commended the Executive arm for embarking on impactful projects in all the wards in the Local government.
He assured the Council boss that the House would give the budget proposal accelerated consideration in the interest of the people of Aiyekire and Gbonyin LCDA.
Also speaking at the occasion the Chairman of Gbonyin LCDA, Hon. Damilare Ajayi described the budget as a well tailored budget that would transform the social and economic lives of the people of the area.
Those present at the brief occasion included the Onimesi of Imesi Ekiti, HRM Oba Festus Olatunji Olatunde, Aiyekire Vice Chairman Hon Adeyanju Joseph, Secretary Hon. Esan Ogunjobi, APC Leaders, HLAs and Directors from both LGA and LCDA Iyalaje’s, Artisans, Management Staff and some stakeholders in the Local Government.
