A Cleric Reverend Canon Afolabi Kumapayi has urged Christians to embrace love, sacrifice, and humility as exemplified by Jesus Christ as they celebrate Palm Sunday, which marks the start of Holy Week.
Canon Kumapayi made the call at the New Era Anglican Church Onala in Ado to commemorate this year’s “Palm Sunday” celebration.
Christians celebrate Palm Sunday, every Sunday preceding Easter in remembrance of Jesus Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem.
According to Reverend Canon Kumapayi the Holy Week is a time for prayer, penance, reflection and spirituality among Christians.
The cleric advised Christians to use the Holy Week to refocus their lifestyle and shun acts that are unpleasant to Christ.
The Anglican Cleric appealed to the faithful to live according to the dictates of Christ Jesus and toe the path of righteousness even in times of trials and tribulations.
