The people of Araromi Ekiti in Ijero Local Government Area of Ekiti State have distanced themselves from the recent media remarks made by one Mr. Gabriel Olusola Aina concerning the ongoing court case involving the monarch of the community, Oba Babalola Adebomi, the Alararomi of Araromi Ekiti.

In a statement issued by the President of Araromi Progressive Union, Mr.Thaddeus Agboola, stated clearly that Mr. Aina’s comments do not reflect the collective position of the people of Araromi Ekiti.

“Mr. Aina spoke in his personal capacity and not on behalf of our people,” Mr. Agboola said. “His views are not a product of any meeting or consensus by the community or its recognized leadership.”

The community leader emphasized that since the matter is currently before the Federal High Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti, all parties must respect the judicial process and refrain from making prejudicial statements.

“We believe in the sanctity of the judiciary,” he added. “The court is in the best position to determine the facts and deliver justice. We should all allow the legal process to run its full course without undue media interference.”

According to the statement, the people of Araromi Ekiti remain committed to peace, due process, and the rule of law.

Agboola warned against individuals arrogating to themselves the authority to speak for the entire community without broad consultation.

“No one should mislead the public into thinking the community is divided, Araromi Ekiti is united and peace-loving. We respect constituted authority and uphold our values of integrity.”

He also appealed to all stakeholders, including media outlets, legal practitioners, and concerned citizens, to exercise caution and decorum when commenting on the matter.

“Let us not allow sentiments or misinformation to overshadow the truth. The case is already in court, and we trust the judiciary to do justice,” the statement concluded.
