    The Chairman of the Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission, Mr. Samuel Abejide, has emphasized the need for staff to inculcate the habit of gratitude, teamwork, and commitment.

    Mr. Abejide who gave the charge at the inaugural prayer session of the commission for year 2026 gave glory to God for the blessings and successes of the past year.

    He noted that achievements could not be achieved by one person’s commitment but the collective effort of the team, saying “A tree cannot make a forest.

    The chairman acknowledged the support of his colleagues and staff, describing them the backbone of the commission’s progress.

    He reiterated his dedication to ensuring that staff continue to enjoy the benefits and opportunities provided by the government.

    Mr. Abejide urged staff to reflect on the remarkable progress made under the current administration, and continue to support it.

    “What else do we want that has not been done?” he asked, highlighting improvements such as arrears payment and staff training.

    He cautioned against impatience and unrealistic expectations, reminding everyone that progress is a process.

    He prayed for continued success and prosperity for everyone, expressing appreciation for their dedication.

    In a remark one of the Commissioners, Prince Suyi Aladesanmi, praised the Chairman, describing him as a reliable source of advice and guidance, emphasizing that his role in government is invaluable and cannot be overlooked.

    He urged all workers to continue praying for the Chairman’s well-being and longevity.

    The Permanent Secretary in the commission Mrs. Titilayo Toba-Ojo, noted the importance of health, charging the workers to prioritise their health.

    She urged everyone to reflect on their performances in the past year, and put in more this year.

    The Permanent Secretary also warned workers on truancy. “If you think you can come to work at will and leave with it, think again,” she noted

    Mrs. Toba-Ojo praised the progress made, noting that the commission never had it this good.

    She urged staff to embrace the new year with renewed zeal, unity, and dedication to their roles.

    In his address, the Permanent Secretary loans board, Mr Rotimi Akomolede emphasized the importance of having a leader whose voice is not only heard but resonates on behalf of the people.

    Mr. Akomolede also praised the chairman’s enduring vitality and dedication, attributing it to God’s grace.

    He reminded everyone of the need to care for their health proactively, highlighting that health should be maintained even in the absence of illness.

    The Chairman of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employee in the commission Mr. Falade Olarewaju shared his gratitude for the approval of his financial assistance to staff.

    He thanked the management of the commission for the release of the long-awaited promotion letters.

     

    Earlier, a cleric, Mr Olorunsola in a sermon emphasized the importance of sowing good seed in 2026.

    Referencing Isaac’s story, the pastor highlighted how Isaac sowed a hundredfold and was blessed.
