Fifteen out of Sixteen residents of Eda Oniyo who were kidnapped on April 28, 2026 at a Church service have been released by the Kidnappers.
The victims who were escorted by police operatives were brought to Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital EKSUTH , Ado for medical attention.
In an interview , Eda Oniyo Progressives Union President , Dr Rufus Ajayi gave glory to God for their release noting that the town have been in sadness, Fasting and Prayer since the incident occurred.
Dr Ajayi narrated that they were released in Kogi state after several efforts were made by the community stakeholders.
Also, Ilejemeje local government Chairman , Mr Pius Alaba said security measures have been put in place to ensure safety of lives and property in the council area urging religious groups to abide by the rules guiding there activities.
They said one of the victim died in the Kidnappers den.
