The All Progressives Congress (APC) councillorship candidate for Ekameta Ward, in Ijero Local Government Area, Engineer Ojo Ebenezer Ogunleye, has assured residents of the ward comprising Epe, Ara and Araromi Ekiti of quality representation and increased dividends of democracy if elected in the forthcoming local government election in the state.

Engineer Ogunleye who gave the assurance while speaking with journalists at a forum in Ado-Ekiti, noted that his return to the council would bring greater development and improved welfare for the people of the three communities.

According to him, his second tenure would focus on implementing more people-oriented programmes and projects that would further enhance the socio-economic development of the ward.

“My second coming will be more beneficial to the people of Ekameta Ward. We are committed to attracting more development projects and ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach every part of our communities,” he said.

Ogunleye, who represented Ekameta Ward in the Ijero Local Government between 2022 and 2024 and also served as Deputy Leader of the Legislative council said the achievements recorded during his first tenure in road rehabilitation, education support and empowerment programmes were only a foundation for greater development.

He also commended the leadership style of the State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, describing his administration as people-oriented and impactful across various sectors of the state’s economy.

According to him, the governor’s developmental strides have positively touched the lives of residents and therefore deserve continuity.

“Governor Biodun Oyebanji has demonstrated purposeful leadership and has impacted positively on critical sectors of the state’s economy, his administration has brought visible development to Ekiti State, and he deserves the continued support of the people,” he stated.

Engineer Ogunleye also expressed appreciation to the leaders and members of the APC in Ekameta Ward for nominating him as the consensus candidate for the forthcoming councillorship election.

“I am deeply grateful for the trust and confidence reposed in me by the leaders and members of our great party in Ekameta Ward. This nomination is not only an honour but also a call to greater service,” he said.

He noted that the decision of the party leaders was a reflection of the collective achievements recorded during his previous tenure as councillor.

“This nomination is a testament to the progress we made together during my first tenure as councillor. I remain committed to building on that foundation and continuing to serve our people with dedication, integrity and passion,” Ogunleye said.

The APC councilorship candidate particularly thanked key party leaders for their support and guidance in the process that led to his emergence.

“I sincerely appreciate the Chairman of the Ekiti State Electricity Board, Barrister Dele Oloje, for his wisdom, guidance and unwavering support. I also thank Hon. Ayodeji Ajayi for his inspiring leadership and dedication to the progress of our party and community.

“My gratitude also goes to Dr. Teniola Dare for his strategic contributions and selfless commitment, as well as the APC Ward Chairman, Mr. Aina Akinboye, whose leadership and confidence in me made this possible,” he added.

Engineer Ogunleye further called on the people of Ekameta Ward and the residents of the State to continue to support Governor Oyebanji with prayers and cooperation to sustain the developmental strides recorded in the state.

He also urged the electorate to vote massively for the governor in the June 20 governorship election to ensure continuity of good governance.

“The governor needs the continued support and prayers of the people to consolidate on the achievements already recorded. I urge the people of Ekiti State to come out en masse and vote for him so that the good work can continue,” Ogunleye said.
