Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, says he is determined to break the jinx of back to back continuity in the state and will not let down the people, leaders, as well as members of the All Progressives Congress.

The Governor made the declaration in Abuja while submitting his nomination and expression of interest forms for re-election to the APC national leadership.

Oyebanji arrived at the party’s national secretariat around quarter past two in the afternoon and was received by members of the National Working Committee amid songs and cheers from supporters.

The Governor was accompanied by party stalwarts, legislators, cabinet members, labour representatives, artisans, market traders, and members of the drivers’ union.

Former Governors Adeniyi Adebayo and Segun Oni, former deputy governors, and 2022 PDP gubernatorial candidate Chief Bisi Kolawole were also present to show their support.

Governor Oyebanji highlighted his commitment to continue to deliver the six pillars of his administration, hinged on transparency, inclusiveness, accountability, and development across the State.

He said he was seeking a second term based on his record of achievements, promising not to disappoint the people or the party.

Oyebanji expressed confidence in the APC National Working Committee to conduct a credible primary election and promised to abide by all rules governing the process.

Governor Oyebanji described the 2026 Ekiti gubernatorial election as a stepping stone to the 2027 presidential polls, promising to deliver the state for the party.

The APC South West National Vice Chairman Dr. Isaac Kekeke and Deputy National Chairman, South, Dr. Emma Eneuku who received the forms assured aspirants of a level playing field.

Goodwill messages poured in from the BAO Endorsement Committee, youths, women, union leaders, ALGON, APC elders, BAO volunteers, and representatives of former Governor, Ayo Fayose, commending Governor Oyebanji’s governance and development record.

The Chairman of the BAO Endorsement Committee, Chief Abiodun Aluko, said the massive turnout of supporters in Abuja demonstrated that Ekiti people stood behind the Governor for a second term.
