An All Progressives Congress Aspirant for the House of Representatives in Ekiti South Federal constituency one , Aree, Igbekele Ayodele has withdrawn his aspiration to contest the seat.
Addressing the APC leaders in the constituency at Ikere Ekiti, the aspirant who is popularly called AIG said the decision was an aftermath of his wide consultation with his followers and a deep respect for the constituted authority within the party.
He said “following extensive consultations with leaders within and outside the political space and most importantly after the wise counsel and the fatherly advice of our kabiyesi, the ogoga of ikere kingdom, whose commitment to peace, unity and the long term interest of our community remains unquestionably, I have taken the difficult but considered decision to withdraw my aspiration for the House of Representatives, Ekiti South Federal constituecy 1,for now.”
Aree Ayodele also noted that his decision to withdraw from the race was a firm commitment to preserving unity within the APC in the constituency.
He said he was not forced to withdraw or intimidated by any group or persons but for the party’s unity and progress to reign supreme in the constituency .
Appreciating his followers and other bigwigs within and outside the party for their support during his aspiration, Aree Ayodele noted that he remained loyal to the party and would continue to contribute meaningfully to the initiatives that would promote peace and progress in the constituency.
“I remain profoundly grateful to all leaders, stakeholders, friends, associates and supporters who believed in this vision and stood firmly with me throughout this journey. Your support has been deeply humbling and will never be taken for granted.” He added
Speaking on behalf of the party leaders, Pastor Kayode Babade described the decision of Aree Ayodele as a welcome development.
Nothing that Aree Ayodele has displayed the spirit of sportsmanship, he urged him to continue to be loyal to the course of the party.
