The Ekiti State House of Assembly has recommended immediate reinstatements of twelve workers of College of Education, Ikere who were victims of wrongful termination of appointment , dismissal by the school management between 1995 to 2001.
This was contained in the report of the Adhoc committee on Education, Science and Technology presented to the lawmakers during the plenary at the Assembly complex in Ado.
The Committee Chairman, Mr Adeyemi Awoniyi who read the report noted that the House received a petition from affected officers on their Plight and failure of the school to obey the Assembly’s resolution of 2007.
The Committee urged the school management to comply and implement all the resolution without further delay.
Mr Awoniyi said all the officers salaries, promotions allowances and other emoluments must be effected up to date upon reinstatements as it applies to the affected officers.
The committee sustained the retirement of two officers by the College noting that in case of death found among the victims, the accumulated entitlements must be paid to the contact person in the family.
The Committee said any delay in the implementation of the resolutions by the College shall be considered as Contempt of Parliament.
