The Chairman of the Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission, Mr Samuel Abejide has extended warm greetings to Christians and Muslim faithfuls across the State on the occasion of the Lenten season and the Holy Month of Ramadan.

In a goodwill message issued on Wednesday, the Chairman described the two sacred periods as significant seasons of spiritual renewal, self-discipline, and devotion to God.

He noted that Lent and Ramadan, though observed by different faiths, share common values of sacrifice, prayer, charity, humility, and service to humanity.

According to him, the periods provide a timely opportunity for citizens, particularly public servants, to reflect on their responsibilities to the society and recommit themselves to integrity, diligence, and selfless service in the discharge of their duties.

The Chairman urged staff of the Local Government Service Commission and the entire Local Government workforce to use the season to promote unity, peaceful coexistence, and mutual respect in their various offices and communities.

He also called on residents of the State to remember the less privileged through acts of kindness, generosity, and compassion.

He further appealed to religious faithful to offer prayers for the continued peace, progress, and development of the State and the nation at large, stressing that collective prayers and moral uprightness remain vital to national growth and stability.

The Chairman further called on religious faithful to continue to pray for the peace, stability, and development of the State, especially for the Governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, that God should grant him wisdom, strength, and divine guidance in the task of governance.

He emphasized that sustained prayers and moral uprightness among citizens remain essential for the continued progress of the State and the success of its leadership.

While wishing Christians a spiritually fulfilling Lenten season and Muslims a peaceful and rewarding Ramadan, the Chairman prayed that God would accept their sacrifices, supplications, and acts of charity, and grant the State enduring peace and prosperity.
