The Ekiti State Police Command says it has commenced an investigation into a popular hotel in Ikere-Ekiti over alleged cult-related activities.

The Command arrested six suspected cultists on the premises of the hotel.

In a statement by the PRO of the Command, SP Sunday Abutu, the hotel is under investigation for permitting its premises to be used for suspected secret cult activities.

    The statement reads in part:

The Ekiti State Police command through the Rapid Response Squad(RRS) has arrested six suspected members of the Alora Confraternity following a violent clash at Inspiration Hotel, Ikere-Ekiti, in the early hours of Saturday, 1st August 2026.

The incident occurred when members of the suspected cult group, who had gathered at the hotel for A meeting, reportedly engaged one another in a physical confrontation during the event. One of the members, popularly known as “Sucrose,” sustained severe bodily injuries and was immediately rushed to a hospital for treatment.

Following the incident, operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), in collaboration with surveillance operatives of Ilupeju Division, swooped on the scene which resulted in the arrest of six suspects identified as: Owolabi Oluwapelumi ’28yrs’, David Adeleke ’28yrs’, Oluwatoba Alo ’30yrs’, Olamilekan Junior ’27yrs’, Segun Bidemi ’29yrs’, and Emmanuel Oladele ’27yrs’.

During preliminary investigation, the suspects reportedly admitted to being members of the alleged Alora Secret Cult Confraternity.

Items recovered from the suspects include a Toyota Camry car, two face caps bearing the Alora logo, three plastic cups bearing the Alora logo, a blood-stained shirt, a pair of scissors, a yellow-coloured hand band, and a key holder bearing the Alora logo.

Meanwhile, the Command has commenced a manhunt for other fleeing suspects.

The Commissioner of Police, Ekiti State Command, CP Falade Adegoroye Michael, has directed that the investigation be intensified on the incident, while reiterating the Command’s zero tolerance for cultism and other forms of violent crime. He assures residents that the Police will continue to take proactive measures to protect lives and property and maintain peace across the State.

The Command therefore calls on members of the public to provide credible and timely information that could assist in apprehending the remaining suspects and other criminal elements in order to continue to enjoy a peaceful atmosphere in the State.
