As a way of containing the effects of flooding,the Ekiti state government is to spend more than one hundred and ninety five million naira to clear blocked drains and culverts in five local government areas of the state.
They are,Ado,Ikere,Irelodun/Ifelodun,Ekiti West and ,Moba.
The decision was part of the resolutions at the state executive council meeting held in Ado Ekiti.
The job to be executed within six months by the state environmental protection and watershed management agency through direct labour was in line with the intention of the government to continue mitigating ecological challenges.
The government also approved more than four billion naira for the construction of alanaka road in Efon Alaaye.
The project would be completed within fifteen months with the aim of easing the hardship of the people and improve their socio-economic activities .
