Students from the Department of Public Administration, Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), on Monday visited the Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission (LGSC) as part of their academic field trip to understand the structure and practical workings of local government administration.

The visiting students were accompanied by their lecturers and received by officials of the Commission.

One of the Executive Secretaries in the commission, Mr Femi Olowolade who represented the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Titilayo Toba-Ojo gave the students an overview of the structure, functions, and responsibilities of various departments within the local government system.

The HLA of the General Administration Department Mr Famisa Adedayo further engaged the students with a presentation on administrative ethics, legal frameworks, and the duties of local government administrators, emphasizing the importance of professionalism and service delivery at the grassroots level.

In appreciation, one of the lecturers Dr. S.C. Anobi of the Department thanked the Commission for granting the students the opportunity to gain practical insight into the workings of local government — a crucial aspect of their academic training.

At the end of the interactive session, the students presented a portrait to the Permanent Secretary as a token of appreciation, and in recognition of the Commission reception and the detailed insights shared during the lecture on work ethics and operations within the local government system.

The students expressed gratitude for the opportunity to connect classroom knowledge with real-life practice, describing the visit as enlightening and impactful.
