Parents, teachers and other key stakeholders in the education sector have been charged to work together to combat examination malpractice and uphold quality education.
The National President of the Ifaki Grammar School Old Students Association, IGSOSA, Mr Kunle Olofintuyi, gave the charge during a courtesy visit to the Principal of the School, in Ifaki-Ekiti,
Mr Olofintuyi, who led members of the newly inaugurated National Executive of IGSOSA on the visit, decried the high rate of examination malpractice in Nigeria’s education system.
The former General Manager of the Ekiti State Emergency Management Agency said old students must play a vital role in repositioning and strengthening the nation’s education sector.
Mr Olofintuyi also emphasised the importance of maintenance culture to ensure the durability of the facilities provided by the alumni of the school.
The IGSOSA President used the opportunity to call on every individual to support the Seventieth Anniversary of the school coming up on the 24th of January 2027.
He assured the gathering that the alumni of Ifaki Grammar School would continue to mobilise resources to support the development of the school and urged teachers to remain committed to excellence in their duties.
Welcoming the delegation, the Principal of Ifaki Grammar School, Ifaki-Ekiti, Mr Adedayo Olaniyi, said the management remained committed to sustaining the school’s reputation as one of the leading secondary schools in the area.
He highlighted some of the priorities of the school to include fighting examination malpractice, an ICT centre, for which he said about three hundred computers would be needed, a library, more classrooms and discipline.
Some teachers of the school commended the visit and reaffirmed their readiness to work towards greater achievements for Ifaki Grammar School.
They demanded adequate recognition of their contributions to the school with a promise to support the Principal to uplift the school.
At the palace of the Olufaki of Ifaki-Ekiti, Oba Adegbenro Falore, Mr Olofintuyi also sought the monarch’s support for the continued growth of the school.
He urged the sons and daughters of Ifaki to support the vision and mission of the school.
In his remarks, Oba Falore, promised to give due consideration to the requests presented by the old students.
The monarch also highlighted ongoing government interventions in the community, including the Ifaki–Esure–Eyio-Awo Road, Ado–Iworoko–Ifaki Road and Ifaki–Orin–Ido Road projects.
The alumni later presented an award to the monarch and conferred on him the title of Grand Patron of IGSOSA. 
On the entourage were the General Secretary, Mr Oluremi Omodara; the Treasurer, Mr Sunday Ojaomo; the Social Welfare Officer, Mrs Oluyemisi Ajayi; the Auditor I, Mr Taiwo Adesola; and the Public Relations Officers, Mr Kelechi David and Mr Afolabi Adewumi, among others.
