The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, BSES Chapel, has mourned the passing of a cinematographer with TVC News, Mr. Ojo Olugbenga Ogunmiloyo, who was formerly a staff of the Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State, BSES.
Ogunmiloyo, who worked in the News Department of BSES, served diligently as a cameraman and was known for his professionalism, collaborative spirit, and unwavering commitment to truth and visual storytelling.
His role behind the lens contributed significantly to the News Department’s reportage and the broader media landscape in Ekiti State.
In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman of the Chapel, Comrade Kelechi David, and the Secretary, Comrade Adedayo Adeleye, members of the Chapel expressed profound shock and sorrow over the news of his passing, describing it as a painful blow to the journalism community.
“The loss of Mr. Ogunmiloyo is deeply felt across our newsroom and beyond. His legacy as a quiet force behind many impactful reports will remain etched in the memory of those who worked with him,” the statement reads.
The NUJ, BSES Chapel extended its heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, colleagues at TVC, and all those affected by this sudden departure.
The Chapel described his passing not just as a personal loss, but one that leaves a gap in the practice of broadcast journalism in Ekiti State.
