The Senator representing Ekiti North Senatorial District, Senator Cyril Fasuyi, has condemned in strong terms the tragic attack on innocent worshippers in Eda-Oniyo, Ilejemeje Local Government Area of Ekiti State, describing it as “a painful blow not only to Eda-Oniyo but to the entire Ekiti North and beyond.”

In a message of condolence and solidarity addressed to His Royal Majesty, the Eleda of Eda-Oniyo, Senator Fasuyi expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives, including that of a revered pastor, and the abduction of members of the community during the attack.

“On behalf of myself and the good people I represent, I extend my heartfelt condolences to His Royal Majesty, the bereaved families, and the entire community,” the Senator stated. “No words can fully capture the grief and shock that such a senseless act of violence brings, especially in a place of worship that ought to remain a sanctuary of peace and hope.”

Senator Fasuyi urged the people of Eda-Oniyo to remain steadfast and united in the face of tragedy. “While the pain is immense, we must not allow fear to overcome our collective strength and resilience. I am confident that, with courage and cooperation, this difficult time will pass and justice will prevail.”

He assured the monarch and the community that efforts are ongoing with relevant security agencies to ensure the safe return of those abducted and to bring the perpetrators to justice. “The safety and well-being of our people remain a top priority,” he emphasized.

The Senator prayed for the peaceful repose of the souls of the departed and for fortitude for their families to bear the irreparable loss. He also prayed for healing, protection, and renewed strength for the people of Eda-Oniyo.

“Please accept, Your Royal Majesty, the assurances of my highest regards and continued support,” Senator Fasuyi concluded.
