The Permanent Secretary of the Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission, Mr. Rotimi Akomolede, has charged directors across local governments to uphold strict professionalism and enforce punctuality as a core component of the Civil Service Code of Conduct.

He gave the charge while addressing directors from Procurement, Finance, Environmental, internal Audit, WASH, and Information and civic orientation at the the LGSC hall in Ado.

Akomolede stressed that punctuality was non-negotiable for effective service delivery in the councils.

He commended the Finance department noting that strategic financial planning had significantly contributed to the Commission’s success.

The PS applauded the Environmental department for diligence in its procedures, while the Procurement team were charged to refrain from exhibiting arrogance in the discharge of their duties.

Akomolede also extolled the internal Audit department for its work but stressed the sensitive nature of its role in terms of financial control urging staff to sustain their current standards.

He acknowledged the WASH ( water supply, sanitation, and hygiene )department for delivering work marked by excellence and urged it to further prioritize operations for maximum efficiency.

The Directors of Information were commended for an excellent job, but were told to mainstream and work closely with council chairmen to amplify government policies.

He acknowledged Governor Oyebanji’s stride in the commission, stating the old narrative has changed.

Akomolede said this was evident in the prompt elevation, and promotion of workers, among other incentives.
