The chairman of the Ekiti State Environmental Protection Agency (EKSEPA), Chief Bamitale Oguntoyinbo has commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji for approving the fixing of old electricity wires, facilities in Oye-Ekiti.

Oguntoyinbo gave the commendation while addressing journalists on Friday in Oye-Ekiti.

He said the outdated electricity wiring and facility put in place since 1976 has negatively affected the supply of electricity in the community.

Oguntoyinbo, who is the Obalodo of Oye Kingdom, said the approval of Oyebanji was facilitated by the appeal of the Oloye of Oye Kingdom, Oba Micheal Ademolaju, when the governor paid the traditional ruler a visit in his Palace.

Oguntoyinbo, thanked governor Oyebanji for his prompt approval to replace the old electricity wiring system in the community.

He however, dismissed the allegations levelled against the governor that his administration has not done any tangible projects in Oye Local Government Area.

Oguntoyinbo highlighted the governor’s work in Oye Local Government area to include ongoing construction of Oye and Are-Ekiti road, repairs of Oye township electricity facilities, construction of the box culvert at the entrance of Ilodo quarters, along Old Oye and Ire-Ekiti road to curb erosion.

He added that the contract for the fencing of Government College, Oye-Ekiti was awarded by the Oyebanji’s administration to prevent further encroachment on government land and for the security of staff, students as well as property of the school.

Chief Oguntoyin appealed to indigenes of Oye-Ekiti, home and abroad to support the Biodun Oyebanji administration to further bring dividends of democracy to the town.
