…Says Victory, a mandate renewed.
The Convener of the Asipa Political Family Hon. Ayodeji Adarabierin has applauded the official affirmation of Governor Biodun Oyebanji by the All Progressives Congress (APC) as its consensus candidate for the 2026 gubernatorial election in Ekiti State.
The affirmation was made on Monday, October 27, 2025, at the Ekiti State Pavilion in Ado-Ekiti, with 885 delegates from 177 wards across the 16 local government areas of the state voting in favor of Oyebanji’s candidacy.
Hon. Adarabierin who is the Secretary of State Primary Election Committee for the reelection of the Governor noted that the motion for Oyebanji’s adoption which was moved by Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele and seconded by the Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Adeoye Aribasoye was a testament to his good governance and the collective decision of party members.
“The APC’s decision to adopt Oyebanji as its consensus candidate reflects the party’s confidence in his leadership and the progress made in the state during his tenure” he remarked.
He described the consensus candidacy of Governor Oyebanji as a significant milestone, as he becomes the first sitting APC governor in Ekiti State to secure a back-to-back nomination for a second term since the return of democracy in 1999.
The SSA to Governor Oyebanji on Tax and Revenue Matters, said the consensus primary, chaired by Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Usman Ododo, and deputized by Edo State Governor, Mr. Monday Okpehbolo, was in line with the Electoral Act and the APC Constitution as ratified by INEC, calling on other states to emulate the Ekiti model for continuity.
He thanked President Bola Tinubu, the APC leadership, and party stakeholders for supporting the Governor’s second term ambition, assuring them that Governor Oyebanji will continue to deliver on his electioneering promises to the people of Ekiti
He called on warring factions in the party to shelve their grievances and join forces with the Governor to develop the state in the best interest of all.
