    Ekiti governorship election: LGSC chairman, Abejide canvasses vote for BAO

    The chairman, Ekiti Local Government Service Commission, Mr Samuel Abejide has called on eligible voters in Efon, Okemesi Ido ile, Ekameta and Ekiti West Local government areas to come out enmasse come 20th next month and reelect Governor Biodun Oyebanji.

    Mr Abejide who led other management staff of the commission on a campaign tour to the council areas said the governor had performed beyond expectations hence the need for his reelection.

    Mr Abejide who took time to intimate the gathering on the various developmental works of the governor, particularly as it concern local government administration said he deserved to be reelected.

    He said Ekiti was part of the first states to key into the local government autonomy and gave chairmen free hands to operate.

    The chairman said the governor had priorities worker’s welfare as he had ensured prompt payment of salaries, clearing of backlog of wages and ensuring training and retraining of staff.

    He said the governor ensured that the commission moved to its permanent secretariat years after the creation of the state.

    Abejide said in view of the submission, the governor who is the flag bearer of the All progressives Congress deserves their votes come 20th of next month.

    “I will want to appeal to you all, please let’s go back home and canvas vote for BAO, he has done well in Ekiti, and a good term deserves another for the good works to continue, he had justify the confidence reposed in him and I believe if given a second chance he would perform better”. He added

    Others who spoke at the gathering included the permanent secretary of the commission, Mr Rotimi Akomolede, the Nigeria Union of Local government Employee President, Mr Olatunde appealed to the workers to reciprocate the governor’s gesture and ensure his victory at the polls.

    In all the places visited, local government workers received the team with joy, signing various songs appraising the governor for keeping to his promises of prioritising the welfare of workers.

    In an interview, the Chairman of Okemesi, Mr Ajibade Owolabi and his counterpart in Ekameta, Dr Leye Adeniji praised the governor for developing Ekiti, promising to mobilise for his emergence for a second term.

    The tour continues with a visit to other local governments.
