The Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State, BSES, has been honoured as the Best Radio Station in Ekiti State for the year 2026 in recognition of its outstanding contribution to broadcasting, public enlightenment, entertainment, culture and community development.
The prestigious award was conferred on the station by the organizers of the Year of Merit Awards for Foremost Achievers, YOMAFA, at a colourful ceremony held in lagos
The award was received on behalf of the station by Mrs. Ronke Esan, who represented the General Manager of BSES, Mr. Olu Popoola at the occasion.

According to the organizers, BSES was singled out after a rigorous assessment of broadcast stations in the state, where the station distinguished itself in quality programming, professionalism, promotion of Ekiti culture and values, as well as its consistent role in educating and entertaining the people of the state.
Presenting the award, the Chairman of YOMAFA Organizing Committee said the award was designed to celebrate institutions and individuals who have demonstrated excellence, integrity and service to humanity.
He noted that BSES has remained a pacesetter in the broadcast industry and a trusted voice of the people of Ekiti State.
He commended the management and staff of the corporation for upholding high ethical standards and for using the platform of radio to foster unity, peace and development in the state.
Responding after receiving the award, Mrs. Ronke Esan, who spoke on behalf of the General Manager, Mr. Olu Popoola, dedicated the award to the staff and management of BSES and to the loyal listeners of the station across Ekiti and beyond.
She said the recognition is a challenge for the station to do more, adding that under the leadership of Mr. Olu Popoola, BSES will continue to reposition for greater efficiency and quality service delivery.
Mrs. Esan thanked YOMAFA for finding BSES worthy of the honour and assured that the station will remain committed to its core mandate of informing, educating and entertaining the public.
With this latest honour, BSES has once again reaffirmed its status as the leading voice of Ekiti people and a formidable force in the broadcast industry in Nigeria.
