The chairman of the Ekiti State local government service commission Mr Samuel Abejide has emphasized the importance of loyalty and unity in sustaining the development efforts of Governor Oyebanji’s administration.
Mr Abejide gave the advice during the tour of Emure, Ise/Orun, Ikere, and Ekiti South local government areas of the state.
Commissioner Olawole Adedipe who represented the chairman at Emure Ekiti, acknowledged the governor as a promise keeper who had prioritized local government welfare.
He highlighted the timely approval of over 2,400 staff promotions and expanded services across local government areas.
Commissioner Wole Olujobi at Ise/Orun stressed the need for continuity, highlighting Lagos, where consistent governance has led to sustained local government development. “If this government continues, we can be rest assured that all of you will enjoy its benefits for years to come,” he said,
Addressing the senior staff, Mr Olujobi reminded them of their role as breadwinners and leaders within their communities and workplaces, urging them to ensure transparency and sharing of resources with subordinates to build loyalty and team spirit.
“Whatever we do to support this government, we are only promoting ourselves,” he emphasized.
At Ikere, commissioner Segun Onaade stressed the importance for participation voter registraion, to strengthen the government’s support base. “Your vote counts more than ten votes when multiplied by your family and community,” he said.
Similarly at Ekiti south west, prince Suyi Aladesanmi praised the government for creating an atmosphere for peace and security currently being enjoyed in the state compared to neighboring states.
He called for continued backing of Governor Oyebanji and warned against supporting opposition candidates.
They urge the workers to promote the government’s achievements both within their offices and communities, and to prepare diligently for the upcoming elections.
They further stated “ can you afford to let somebody come and say this LCDA is too much? That there is no money and it is better for us to scrap or cancel it? God will not allow that to happen.”
So please, for God’s sake, let us work for ourselves. Let us not go into error. It is an error for someone to see a moving train coming and then choose to stand in front of it.
Your present position today is because you believe in the ability of the one that put you there. Sustain it through continuity. we must be loyal to the government in power,but when you start looking for “another something,” you are breaking the law—and there are penalties for that.
Don’t you want promotion? Don’t you want salary payments to continue? That is why you need to work for the government.”
The Permanent Secretary, local government service commission, Mrs Titilayo Toba Ojo stated that the Commission has the authority to correct every ill.
“When there is wrongdoing, there is always a consequence. As the saying goes, “To be forewarned is to be forearmed,” and likewise, “To be forearmed is to be forewarned.” That is why the Commission is here today — to sound a clear warning.
We are here to remind everyone that any individual who chooses to go outside the laid-down rules and regulations must be ready to face the consequences. We are not here to accuse anyone, but to caution and guide. This is a time to reflect, align with the rules, and stay committed to the government of the day.

NULGE chairmen in their responses declared their support for the present administration and stated that, “given the political nature of the times, it is not unusual for individuals to make false accusations against others for personal or political reasons”.
They appealed to the Commission to investigate all allegations thoroughly and establish facts before taking any punitive action.
They further stressed that the local government had benefited significantly under the current administration and cannot afford to lose what has been achieved. “BAO has done so much for us. We won’t allow these gains to slip through our fingers. Anyone preaching otherwise is on his own.”
