President Bola Tinubu has sacked Wale Edun, Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the economy. Edun was sacked alongside Umar Dangiwa, Minister of Housing and Urban Development. The takeover of Ifaki Grammar School, Ifaki-Ekiti, by the Ekiti State Government without due compensation has been condemned by the Omiabidun of Ilupeju-Ekiti, Chief Esan Ogunleye. Chief Ogunleye, an alumnus of the school, at his resident in Ilupeju-Ekiti, decried the poor relocation of the institution to an undeveloped site following government’s university project which ceded the school to the then University of Science and Technology, Ifaki-Ekiti, now Ekiti State University. The Permanent Secretary in the Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission, Mr. Rotimi Akomolede, has charged directors across local governments to demonstrate loyalty, commitment, punctuality, and professionalism while discharging their duties. Six people escaped death on Tuesday after two vehicles, Toyota Corrola and Toyota Muscle Camry crashed along the Ado- Iworoko Expressway road. Eyewitnesses described the accident as terrifying, attributing it to speed and loss of control by one of the vehicles. The Ekiti State Government has paid 3.55 billion naira as counterpart funding for the execution of the 2025 Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC)/State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) intervention projects in public basic schools across the state.
