    …Says Party’s Affirmation of Governor Oyebanji as Consensus Candidate, Well-Deserved

    An All Progressives Congress Chieftain from Orin Ekiti in Ido Osi Local Government Area, Dr Ayodeji Ayodele Dada has commended the official affirmation of Governor Biodun Oyebanji by the party as its consensus candidate for the next year governorship election in the state.

    Dr Dada explained that the affirmation which was made on Monday, October 27, 2025, at the Ekiti State Pavilion in Ado-Ekiti, with 885 delegates from 177 wards across the 16 local government areas of the state voting in favor of Oyebanji’s candidacy, was as a result of his good governance and the various development drives.

    The APC’s decision to adopt Oyebanji as its consensus candidate reflects the party’s confidence in his leadership and the progress made in the state during his tenure” he remarked.

    Dr Dada who emphasized the need for continuity in governance, described his re-nomination as the party’s consensus candidate for the 2026 Ekiti State governorship election as well-deserved, adding that Governor Oyebanji’s re-election will ensure the completion of ongoing projects and further drive development in the state.

    “Continuity is key to development,” he said. “With Governor Oyebanji’s re-election, Ekiti State will continue to benefit from his visionary leadership and development initiatives.”

    Dr Dada highlighted some of the governor’s notable achievements, including: Construction and rehabilitation of roads, bridges, and other critical infrastructure, Transparency and accountability in governance, with a focus on delivering results

    He also said the 3 years of his administration Economic has Initiated policies that had helped to boost the state’s economy and improve the lives of Ekiti people among others.

    Dr Dada described the consensus candidacy of Governor Oyebanji as a significant milestone, as he becomes the first sitting APC governor in Ekiti State to secure a back-to-back nomination for a second term since the return of democracy in 1999.

    He commended the efforts of President Bola Tinubu, the APC leadership, and party members as well as other relevant stakeholders towards the peaceful conduct of the Party Primaries ahead of the 2026 gubernatorial election in the state.

    Dr Dada expressed optimism that the Governor would continue to deliver on his electioneering promises to the people of Ekiti through his six pillars Agenda.

    He called on warring factions in the party to shelve their grievances and join forces with the Governor to develop the state in the best interest of all.
